People in France sure do love Yves Saint Laurent, so much so that the rich shelled out a whopping $484 million at a recent Christie's event where the late designers belongings were auctioned. The worst of it? Robert and Cheska Vallois paid a unimaginable $28.3 million for a 90-year-old armchair designed by Irish designer Eileen Gray. The chair, named "The Dragons," was estimated to sell for 3.8 million. What a sell! But what can you do with a nearly $30 MILLION chair? I bet the last thing they'll use it for is sitting.
And I thought we were in a global recession...
